I have had the small cuts placed in the sphincter of Oddi. It worked for about 2 months and the pain came back again. They said that the procedure would probably need to be done about every 6 months. I will not have it done anymore. It is painful to walk for about 14 days.
i had my gallbladder out oct ’08 when i was 4 months pregnant. so less than a year ago. i had my babe in feb. and since i stopped breast feeding i have been drinking now and then. last night i went out and had a lot to drink. didnt get a hangover or puke but all of a sudden i felt uber naseous and had dirahea this is the first time this has happened. my doctor never told me anything about drinking after having my gall bladder out. why is it bad? and why has this only happened to me this one time and not every time? is drinking without a GB dangerous?

My problem is I never run to bathroom after eating. I am the lucky one who always waits till I am sleeping or visiting someone out of state!! I at this time have not had my gallbladder out but for the past few years have had tests for it and nothing. I have pain on my upper right, some sharp, some just sore all the time. So far test shows its fine but now I suffer from constant nausea. Is all this normal. I am surprised with modern technology they cannot deal with the gallblader better. Now if they do decide to take it out, sounds like I will still suffer the same symtoms as I have now. Yes I cramp when I have no time to get to know the toilet and maybe visit it on too many occasions but this constant nausea is what worries me but what worries me the most is all these DOCTORS who think they know best so lets put people thru ever un-human test we can come up with!!!
In is nearly two years ago that I had my gallbladder removed. For three years prior to that I had tried all the cleanses but the GB was determined to pack up on me, and after being rushed to hospital with jaundice and pancreatitis I finally had to have the operation. So far the results have been all positive, but slowly my waist has thickened and lately I am feeling full, sometimes bloated after certain meals, in a way I didn’t experience before. Could just be age (53) I know, but I can’t help thinking the body doesn’t just lose an organ without there being some consequence, some adjustment. Am I making stones and storing them somewhere else? How can I keep a check on my system? Does anyone relate to any of this?
I had my gallbladder took out jan 2008, and after that it is like i have gained 40 pounds and it wount go away… what to do,, i went to the gym play with my baby, and i look like i am having a nother baby,, like i keep getting bigger,, any suggestions ”
I had my gallbladder taken out in December 2009,i have recntly noticed a lump foring on the right hand side of my incision fro where i had keyhole,i am constantly suffering a bloated tummy where i look 9mnths pregnant,i have a lot of tummy pain to,but i am not having any pain where the lump is forming,i am really worried about as i had it done 7mnths ago,plz can any1 tell me what this lump could be its not painful but really worrying, thank you for your help.
I had my GB removed in July of this year also and I have had a lot of problems with back spasms and pain! I am on pain pills and muscle relaxers most of the time and hate being like this! I never had any back problems until the surgery so I figure it has to be from the surgery. Does any one have any answers or experiencing the same thing?
“Thank goodness someone else has the same problem as me … now I don’t feel so angry at my digestive system. I’ve always been a little sensitive to fatty (especially fried) food and removing my gallbladder made it worse — once it goes in, my tummy IMMEDIATELY starts rumbling & whooosh! It comes out. It’s truly gross & annoying. Yet sometimes satisfying and a great way of making sure that I eat healthy.
And alcohol speeds things up … even if it’s “”safe”” food. We went to a fancy restaurant a couple months ago and the small amount of pate in one of my dishes made me sick for 2 days. Ugh.”
I removed my gallbladder in 2007. I can still drink any kind of alcohol, I’ve had vodka, beer, rum, cocktails, shots etc. But after I have way too much I start throwing up, both alcohol and bile (that never used to happen). I would still feel a bit buzzed in the morning and have some strange bowel movements. (This is also happens when I haven’t eaten anything for more than 6 hours on end). I also noticed that I have “food poisoning” (or that’s just what the doctors call it) and throw up bile at least 6-7 times consecutively; this would happen around two times a year and there was no specific kind of food (fatty vs. healthy) that would trigger it, just random. “Change in weather” , “food poisoning” or “oh, some virus”, they would say.
“Has anyone wondered if we really needed to have our gall bladders out?? Just curious .. I am like most of you .. have issues with digesting my food properly .. wish someone had recommended trying digestives enzymes before I had it out .. First you have to figure out if you have too much acid in your stomach or not enough .. here is an interesting test .. after eating when you have the bloating, and all the other signs take a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and i little water .. you can add a little honey if you cannot handle it …. if this helps .. you need to add HCL .. if not and bothers you even more .. you have too much acid .. you and might have to do the counterpart .. So we might be adding tums when we need HCL or Bromelain and or digestive enzymes .. I know my problem is not enough acid ..
Ya know the other thing that causes all the same symptoms is H pylori .. been there done that just a few months after my gall bladder removal ..
Bottom line .. wish I had found all this out before I let the surgeon go in and wish I had found a good holistic MD at the time .. just my 2 cents”
“i had my gall bladder removed 16 months ago and i still have gallbladder like pains now. i have been back to my gp only to be told i have indigestionn. i really don’t.
i’m feeling disappointed that i am still suffering these pains and i don’t know where to turn. the pains are increasing to virtually everyday and are getting more severe.

Had Laproscopic gallbladder remval 10/14. Pain afterwards but nothing really bad, it seemed to get better. Not eating anything fatty, was warned by my doctor. It didn’t matter I couldn’t eat any of that before either. Then three days after surgery getting ready to eat dinner 2 sharp pains in right side under ribs and pain has been terrible ever since. It’s been three days doctor has done blood tests, normal and CT no results yet. I had rotator Cuff surgery 7/1/08 and was fine the day before, never any gallbladder pain or symptoms, after I woke up from anesthesia nausea and vomiting and pain. Doctor thought pain meds. When It wasn’t going away many test. Finally did CCK/Hida. It didn’t recreate pain but nausea, function only 19% was told by PCP had to come out. So I had it out and BAM WORSE cramping pain ever. I don’t know how I can eat any better. Only thing half way bad is coffee.
Hi I am a 35 year old female and had my gall baldder removed 5 years ago after having a very painful attack that came out of the blue. I believe the operation has contributed to 5 years of health issues, concerns not to mention a substantail financial cost. Initialy I did recover quite quickly and seemed to have very little problems except diarrhea and occassional bloating. However within 1 – 1.5 years I developed many symptoms that progressively got worse – severe bloating, quesy stomach, severe joint pain, tiredness, brain fog, lethargy, irritability, rashes and more. I visited doctors and specialists time and again nad had many tests done – nothing came back conclusive but most tests showed ‘something’ was not right. I became desperate and felt very alone as I realised my symptoms were getting worse and not only effecting me but also my family – I began to rapidly lose weight (15 kgs in a few months) and then stopped getting my period (for 18 months)- I had always been regular. Eventually I ran out of options and visited a Spanish trained naturaopath and iridologist who ended up being a life saver and diagnosed me in 1 hour – I had developed a food allergy which I later identified to be gluten and yeast. After months of strict diets, acupuncture and other alterternative therapies I slowly recovered, but have only now – 2 years later begun to regain any real weight. I have done tremendous amounts of research over this time into nutrition, the major organs and bodily functions and believe the trauma my body went through after having my gall bladder removed (after the operation the surgeon admitted there was possibly no reason to have removed my gallbladder as the tiny stone had passed) significantly contributed to my food intolerance and health problems. whilst I believe many medical procedures are beneficial and lifesaving, I believe we must take full responsibility for our bodies and gain as much information as possible before undertaking any surgery or prescribing to any drug regime. Alot can be done through diet, exercise and understanding how your body works. Arm yourself with lots of knowledge – it is time consuming and hard work – but not as much as getting a malnourished and sick body back on track. Good luck
