Surgeons advise medical review panels, their patients and treatment support coordinator the following:

There is NO proven direct link between cholecystectomy and post operative weight gain
There is NO adverse effect on the gut’s ability to metabolize fat
There is NO recognised link between removal of the gallbladder and weight gain
